2021 Tree Planting
Rainforest Rescue’s 2021 Tree Planting is scheduled for Saturday 01 May at NightWings Rainforest Centre.
Rainforest Rescue’s Annual Community Tree Planting Day will be held on Saturday 01 May 2021 and you’re invited!
When: Saturday 01 May 2021 – please ensure you arrive by 8 am
Where: NightWings Rainforest Centre (2125 Mossman Daintree Road, Wonga, Qld)
What to bring: Gardening gloves (new or clean to ensure no cross-contamination), a water bottle (we will provide a water refill station), sturdy closed-toed boots/shoes, sun-safe attire (e.g., hat & sunscreen), face mask (if you wish to wear one) and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
RR will provide: First aid kit, healthy snacks, hand sanitiser, gloves & small trowels (locals are welcome to bring their own if they are new or clean), a great location, seedlings, and pre-dug holes.
We ask that all attendees register for a free ticket via EventBrite – click here to register.
The event will commence at 8:00 am, so we will be finished before noon – before it gets too hot.
After a morning of planting trees to restore rainforest & connectivity, we will convoy to our Nursery for a light lunch. We will have ferry tickets available (but we ask that locals bring their Ferry Cards). After lunch, we will continue on to Lot 46 Cape Tribulation Road, where we’ll be holding a very special naming ceremony – stay tuned for more details! We encourage people to carpool where possible as parking at the Nursery & Lot 46 is limited (plus, the less cars on the roads, the better!)
