Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision-making, and the honouring of a triple bottom line: People, Planet, Profit. CSR isn’t just about doing the right thing; it also offers direct business benefits.

Building a reputation as a responsible business sets you apart. With 91% of global consumers likely to switch brands to one associated with a good cause, many consumers prefer to buy from ethical businesses, and companies often favour suppliers who demonstrate responsible policies, as this helps them to minimise the risk of any damage to their own reputations.

Sales of environmentally-friendly products are continually growing. A recent survey by Roy Morgan research indicates that people worldwide are seeing the environment as ‘the most important issue facing the world’, while the Financial Times reports that sales of products such as solar panels and energy-efficient appliances rose from $6 billion in 2004 to $12 billion last year.
