Why I love being part of this campaign
"We hope to drive conversation about these issues through the making of art and want to create beautiful and thought provoking art that changes the way people think about these problems."
About my Artwork
'Endcount' is a collaboration between Aurelie Perthuis (Lily) and Joe Bramwell-Smith with mutual interests in the worlds of contemporary art and nature conservation. The Endcount project weaves important conservation messages into innovative yet traditional physical works. Each piece is a mix of data, code, print, canvas and paint that captures the extreme fragility of these creatures. Each artwork is a representation of the total number of remaining members of a given species ranging from a few hundred to a number of thousand. This series is a deep dive into a specific group of beautiful endangered birds across Australia. Endcount is a bold and confronting reminder that our actions have direct impacts on the world around us and that we have the capacity to affect change. A portion of the sale of each artwork will go to a charity working toward the protection of that species.
