Boyhood to Manhood
Why I love being part of this campaign
"The Daintree Rainforest was my boyhood playground; it is my manhood obligation to preserve and keep it that way for future generations."
About my Artwork
Here is the story of the picture ‘Boyhood to Manhood’. The most natural progression of all living things is to grow from “INFANT” to “ADULT” and the same applies to this story of “boyhood to manhood” with the Brolgas. The male Brolga (biggest one) who has the lines on his neck represents the age, like rings on a tree trunk. The feather in his body is fully developed as opposed to the boy feather.
The two “seeds” in the man brolga represent the food that he eats and to show the boy what to eat. The circles represent the Community in which the brolgas congregate. All the “hatching” represent the lands in which they travel to, to dance, eat and breed.
